Welcome Back Lake Delton

"My husband and I went to the Dells in the summer of '08, right after Lake Delton had emptied itself. I have never seen such an eerie sight, a beautiful lake, totally gone. We have had many, many memories in the Dells, and are so glad that it's back to where it was before. Too bad for us, we're not just a few hours away anymore. Welcome back, Lake Delton!

"I am so pleased to see that Lake Delton has been returned to its normal state. Our family has been coming to the Lake Delton area since I was a young girl. We have brought our children and now plan on bringing our grandchildren. We were so sad to see the empty lake last year. We did not cancel our annual trip and were devastated to see the loss. We took many pictures and look forward to taking pictures of ther new lake in just a few weeks. We have stayed at the Lakeside Motel for more than 25 years and am glad to see the lake restored.

Congratulations to all the hard work that was put in especially all the goverment offices that were needed to cooperate to get the job done so quickly. Great team work!"

"I am so happy to hear that Lake Delton is back. I have known the owners of Lake Delton Watersports, Kathy and Steve Zowin for about 30 years, and have never known anything like this to happen. In their business they offer all kinds of family fun!!! I have some of the best memories of my life visiting with them and getting to know some of their employees. Wish all of you a great 2009!!!"

"I am so thrilled that the Lake has been restored. The Wisconsin Dells are a huge part of my life. I have vacationed there many times as a child and now I take MY children on vacation there every summer. All of my happiest memories contain the Dells. It is my children's favorite place to go and every time they have to write a story in school about a happy memory you can be sure that they write about their latest vacation at the Dells.

After Lake Delton drained I took my kids up there to see the aftermath. We wrote our name in the sandy bottom of the empty Lake Delton and saw the left over debris of the poor people who lost there houses. It was a surreal experience to see such a beautiful place "empty" like it was. I can not tell you how happy I am to hear that the Lake is back and I am already planning my next trip!!!"

"Lake Delton is more than just a Lake to me! I have been going to the Dells Area for years and stayed at a resort right on the lake that is no longer in business. Had some really great memories there and will continue to have great memories there as I take my children up there every chance I get. I was heart broken when I heard what had happened, and went there last year in August for vacation and couldn't believe what I saw an empty lake.

I was absolutely thrilled to see that Lake Delton is almost completely filled! Saw many pics and video how wonderful! What a beautiful lake and I am so happy to see that Wisconsin Dells has their prestine lake back."
