Lake Delton Restoration Efforts, Events & ActivitiesJune 14th's Lake Delton Clean-Up Event was a Success!Some 385 volunteers and dozens of contributors came together on Saturday, June 14, 2008 to help with the Lake Delton clean-up efforts. In addition, over $3,000 was raised in cash donations, all which will be used for the Lake Restoration. When the lake is refilled soon, it will be safer, cleaner and more pristine than ever. Noah's Ark Raises $5,500 for Flood ReliefFor every paid admission on Saturday, June 21, 2008, Noah's Ark Waterpark made a $2 donation to the Lake Delton Flood Relief Fund, raising a total $5,500 to help rebuild the community after the shoreline of Lake Delton was breached on June 9, 2008. In addition to raising money for the Flood Relief Fund, Noah’s Ark was also a generous benefactor of the 3rd Annual Wisconsin Dells Waterslide-athon. Held on the same day, June 21, the Waterslide-athon is hosted annually by Noah’s Ark to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Madison. Riverview Park & Waterworld, Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf Host Red Cross BenefitOn June 21, 2008, Riverview Park & Waterworld and Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf raised over $2,000 for the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Red Cross to benefit Wisconsin statewide flood victims. Both attractions placed Red Cross canisters throughout their parks to collect donations. In addition, they also contributed 10% of their June 21st net proceeds. Riverview Park & Waterworld donated $1,220 and Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf donated $1,172. The Rick Wilcox Magic Theater Benefit ShowThe Rick Wilcox Magic Theater Benefit Show on Sunday, June 22, 2008 raised just over $5,000 for the two families who lost their permanent residences on June 9, 2008 when the shoreline of Lake Delton was breached and the waters of the lake emptied into the Wisconsin River. Approximately 300 people attended the benefit show and many others sent donations. The Bank of Wisconsin Dells and US Bank were strong corporate supporters, each buying a row of seats to the benefit event. Dells Comedy Club Donates Funds and Food to the Wisconsin Dells Food PantryThe Dells Comedy Club held their Lake Delton Comedy Benefit on July 19, 2008 to help area residents who were affected by the Lake Delton breach. The Lake Delton Comedy Benefit was performed by a number of talented comedians who donated their time. Attendees donated $10 and canned goods to see this one-of-a-kind performance. The money and canned goods will be donated to the Wisconsin Dells Food Pantry. Canned goods and money are still being collected for a final donation at the end of the summer. Wilderness Territory Family Fun Day Raises $22,000 For Flood VictimsThe Wilderness Territory in Wisconsin Dells, home of the Wilderness Hotel & Golf Resort, Wilderness on the Lake and Glacier Canyon Lodge, raised more than $22,000 Saturday, July 26, 2008 at their Family Fun Day to benefit the American Red Cross Wisconsin Flood Relief Fund. The event featured special guests Mason Crosby, kicker for the Green Bay Packers, and Miss Wisconsin, USA, Michelyn Butler. It also featured a variety of kids activities including air bouncers, face painting, arts & crafts and an imaginary circus. |
