Embrace the Frosty StuffFor a vacation spot whose claim to fame is having had the foresight to fill lots of waterparks with millions of gallons of water, it seems a might odd that they'd also have an affinity for ice and snow here in Wisconsin Dells. But they do. Chalk it up to area business owners believing in embracing their heritage. After all, the early precursor to the modern-day snowmobile - labeled a "motor toboggan" -- was invented by Wisconsin's own Carl Eliason back in 1927. Today, miles of snowmobile trails criss-cross the Dells, luring people away from their homes and onto the trails and then into the area's cabins and condos and B&Bs. Cascade Mountain attracts the downhill skiers. And tubing there, as well as at Glacier Canyon Lodge at the Wilderness, has become mighty popular too. This is what so many people love about Wisconsin Dells -- what you see is what you get. How refreshing. View all Wisconsin Dells Festivals & Events. |
