Indoor Activities for Kiddos

Ride at Tom Foolerys Adventure Park

January 8, 2020

Our visitor bureau staff gets asked this a lot: What can we do with the kids indoors during the winter? Oh, have we got ideas for you!

Knuckleheads

All these things have something in common…can you guess what that is: Ferris wheel, trampoline, geysers, wizards, space capsule, stopwatch, LEGO®. Answer: Each one is the centerpiece of an indoor attraction that is just perfect for kids to explore. Let’s break it down:

  • Ferris wheel: From the freeway you can see the six-story Ferris wheel through the glass wall at Tom Foolerys Adventure Park at Kalahari Resort. Further filling the tall order for indoor fun are laser tag, go-karts, mini-golf, climbing walls, zipline, bowling, arcade, VR and more. Whew, all that will wear out the little ones just in time for an afternoon nap.

  • Trampoline: Knuckleheads Trampoline Park•Rides•Bowling has four high-flying areas, so let the kids dunk a basketball, play dodgeball, perfect a stunt, or just jump around. There are also amusement park rides, an arcade, bowling and VR experiences.

  • Geysers: We’re talking indoor squirt cannons, dump buckets, wave pools, lazy rivers and tons of waterslides at the area’s world-famous indoor waterparks.

  • Wizards: Solve the mystery, free the wizards, use a magic wand. Sounds fun, right! Take the kids to Wizard Quest or MagiQuest/ShadowQuest at Great Wolf Lodge and watch their eyes light up at the challenge.

  • Space capsule: The only place on earth where you can tour an authentic Russian Space Station MIR core module is at Tommy Bartlett Exploratory – Interactive Science Center. And don’t leave without a hair-raising experience at the Van de Graaff generator which allows you to feel the power of a thundercloud as your hair stands on end.

  • Stopwatch: See if you and the kids can beat the clock during an escape room challenge at Booby Trap Escape Rooms, DOA Escape Room at Wilderness Resort or Wrath of Anubis escape room at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions.

  • LEGO®: If you and your kids love LEGOs - wait, everyone loves LEGOs! - then be sure to feast your eyes on the 400,000-piece LEGO® creation at Buffalo Phil's Pizza & Grille. The restaurant commissioned a LEGO® artist to design and build the masterpiece which complements the LEGO® city created by the kids of the restaurant's employees.
