Here at “The Waterpark Capital of the World!®” we get some interesting questions. We thought it’d be fun to examine some of those and do a little myth busting of our own.
MYTH: Wisconsin Dells is one big amusement park.
FACT: The destination known as Wisconsin Dells includes the Village of Lake Delton and the city of Wisconsin Dells. There are over 400 businesses, including several waterparks and theme parks, as well as 90 other attractions that make up our community.
MYTH: Wisconsin Dells is only open certain hours, or only open during the summer months.
FACT: We promise that Wisconsin Dells does not have a front gate. Since it’s a community, not a park, Wisconsin Dells never closes. And although summer is a fantastic time to visit there is plenty of fun to be had the other three seasons! In fact, many area attractions are open year-round.
MYTH: There is a fee to enter Wisconsin Dells.
FACT: There is no general admission fee to the area. Each waterpark, theme park and attraction is privately owned and operated and has its own cost. Attraction prices vary but you can typically find admission prices on each business website-some even let you pre-order tickets! Or give us a call at 800-223-3557 and we’d be happy to help you find that information.
MYTH: There’s no downtown.
FACT: There sure is! And a historic one at that, complete with superb dining options, shops that offer souvenirs and fudge, classic attractions, free entertainment and perfect photo ops. Nothing says summer in the Dells like downtown after sunset.
MYTH: Wisconsin Dells is just for kids.
FACT: There is a grown-up side to Wisconsin Dells, in fact, a recent study showed that nearly 40% of all visitors that come to the Dells are vacationing here sans children. If you’re wondering what makes it so appealing, the answer is endless entertainment, fine dining, shopping, lodging options, and not surprisingly-waterparks.
