Deck Dining in the Dells
Summer is such a fleeting season in Wisconsin. Which is why it’s always best to jump at the chance to dine al fresco. Sun, scenery, good food, great company, that’s a slice of paradise that would go nicely with a slice of pie any day. Here are a few favorite deck dining destinations in the Dells.
One of the newest is the Grateful Shed, a mash-up of food trucks, Instagram-worthy decor, garage doors, picnic tables, and incredibly good food, including grilled cheese, Asian eats, and street tacos. This place has it all.
Others in the same neighborhood, meaning the Wisconsin Dells Parkway, include House of Embers, a classic for steaks, ribs, seafood and over-the-top desserts; Sarento’s Restaurant, with such pretty flower-scaping it looks like you could be in Italy, with authentic Italian food to complement; Bobbers Island Grill is the spot to visit for a little “island flair” with Caribbean-style delicacies to boot; Hot Dog Avenue, while hotdogs are their specialty, be sure to try one of their other sandwiches, you won’t be disappointed; Monk’s Bar & Grill - Lake Delton, if you’re a lover of Wisconsin sports memorabilia check this place out and enjoy a famous burger; and B-LUX Grill & Bar, the “it” spot for shakes and malts.
Restaurants with outdoor seating taking advantage of water views are plentiful too. For Wisconsin River vistas, try River Walk Pub, Mexicali Rose, Riverfront Terrace, and The VUE – Waterfront Dining & Bar. On Lake Delton, take a deck seat at Summer House Grill & Bar or Ravina Bay Bar & Grill.
If you’re in the mood for drinks and appetizers, head to Field’s at the Wilderness with a new outdoor patio that’s tres chic.
Finally, in the downtown district, the people-watching is as delectable as the entrées at High Rock Café, The Keg & The Patio.
