The Perfect Wave

A boy riding a flowrider surf machine at Kalahari Waterpark

July 31, 2015

Sure, there’s no ocean in “The Waterpark Capital of the World!®” per se, but with over 16 million gallons of water in town we know a thing or two about H2O. Our waterparks have worked hard to bring you a place to practice your surf moves or to learn them for the first time. Try your hand, or should we say sea legs, at the two surf machines in Wisconsin Dells.

Noah’s Ark Waterpark, the country’s largest outdoor waterpark, has just about every style of water slide and ride on the planet, including their Surfing Safari surf machine. This outdoor ocean-worthy surf ride churns 36,000 gallons of water under you each minute.

Over at Kalahari Resort Waterparks, the indoor Flowrider® is the place to get your surf on as 50,000 gallons of water flow under you. The five-foot waves are a hit with all ages. Once you master the basics, keep your eye on the lifeguard at the foot of the ride. They’ll demonstrate wicked tricks you can try right under their safe watch.
