Grown-ups take note: If you’re looking for an unexpectedly romantic way to celebrate Valentine’s Day, we have ideas to charm the one you love.
Love to Love the Dells
Does your significant other like to stay active? Is he or she a foodie, spa-goer or shopping enthusiast? Good, we have Valentine’s ideas for all of those.
Let’s start with some active ideas for a couple’s getaway, namely a waterpark visit. Up your game by renting a private cabana at one of the indoor waterparks in the area, including Kalahari Resorts & Conventions and Wilderness Hotel and Golf Resort. Then play to your heart’s content before retiring to a luxury condo or cabin on the resort grounds. Or get adventurous and try a zip line adventure at Bigfoot Zipline Tours, Vertical Illusions-Zip Line/Kayak/Rock Climbing Adventure Center and Wilderness Canyon Zip Line Canopy Tour. Wouldn’t it be cute to go snow tubing together at Cascade Mountain Ski, Snowboard & Snow Tube or Christmas Mountain Village™ Ski, Snowboard & Tube? We think so!
After all that activity, how about a spa together treatment at Spa del Sol at Chula Vista Resort with its own version of a “hot springs” or Spa Serenity in nearby Baraboo where you’ll find a warm buttered stone massage on the menu.
A tasting for two at Wollersheim Winery & Distillery, Fawn Creek Winery, Baraboo Bluff Winery makes for a terrific afternoon diversion.
For shopping finds, be sure to pop into Bekah Kate’s in Baraboo where you’ll find an awesome selection of gourmet kitchen items, perfect for couples who like to cook together. Maybe do a little antiquing at the Wisconsin Dells Antique & Craft Mall. Pick up Valentine-themed caramel apples at Swiss Maid Fudge. Select a pretty piece of jewelry at The Jewelry Boutique to wear out to dinner.
Speaking of dinner, we have two words: supper clubs. A reservation at the Del-Bar, Field’s at the Wilderness, House of Embers, Double Cut Steakhouse and Kaminski’s Chop House has romance written all over it. After-dinner drinks at The Boathouse with a view to the Wisconsin River…divine.
For night owls, head over to Ho-Chunk Gaming, Wisconsin Dells for the nightlife, blackjack and late-night dining.
Insider tip: If you love to frequent B&Bs when you travel as a couple, consider Bowman’s Oak Hill B&B, Inn at Wawanissee Point, Ringling House B&B or Victorian Manor B&B. Sweet dreams!
